Gateway Mailbox

Creating the gateway mailbox

A gateway mailbox for the instance can be set up here. An e-mail address can optionally be specified for this purpose. After creating the gateway mailbox, the mailbox ID and password are displayed and, if necessary, sent to the specified e-mail address.

ATTENTION: The password of the gateway mailbox is not saved by the system. Only with the help of this password e-mails can be archived to the instance. Password recovery by the provider is not possible.

View an existing gateway mailbox

Here, the user is shown the following options:

Suspend

After locking, access to or via the gateway mailbox is prevented.

Reset password

Resetting the mailbox leads to a reset of the encryption within the mailbox. Emails still in the mailbox but not yet matched with the archive can no longer be decrypted and are thus also not archived.

Delete

Deleting the mailbox leads to irreversible loss of all emails still in the mailbox but not yet archived.

The user is also shown the following details about the gateway mailbox:

  • Active

  • Inactive

  • Locked
